In this room, Villa invites you to look closer. Through the holes in the large red monolith, you’ll find tiny portals. Keyholes into worlds created by many different artists. Each work begins with the same symbol. But each unfolds in its own way. As an animation. A short film. Or a fragment of imagination. What starts as something functional, shifts into free expression.

Villa invites several makers to respond to the keyhole symbol. Letting new voices transform a simple sign into a portal to the outside world. Here, the applied and the free meet. New encounters arise between disciplines and perspectives. Over time, more holes and more works will appear. On The Lookout becomes a living archive of talent. A growing collection of miniature worlds. Each offering a first glimpse of new artists and unexpected points of view. With this programme, Villa is on the lookout. Inviting makers from around the globe. Each creating their own interpretation. 

For this first edition, we’re collaborating with BUCK, an international network of dreamers, makers, and doers celebrated for their experimentation and craftsmanship. Together, we take the first steps toward new encounters, one peephole at a time.
